Air Pollution

Artificial Causes and Effects of Air Pollution

There are many Artificial causes of air pollution. One of the main contributors to air pollution is carbon dioxide. This gas is released into the air from a myriad of ways. For example, deforestation has had a large effect on carbon dioxide being deposited into the air. We cut down approximately one and one half acres of rainforest every second. Imagine how much carbon dioxide that is releasing into the air. Another way carbon dioxide is released into the air is by the burning of fossil fuels, such as oil. Think of all of the machines that use oil. Most americans own a car, some own snowmobiles, and some own motorcycles. This is emmiting large amounts of carbon dioxide into the air. When more carbon dioxide is filtering through the air, global warming is also becomes an issue.
Sulfur dioxide is also becoming an issue. This gas is usually released during the burning of coal and chemicals and powerplants. If this does not stop, it will cause acid rain. Furthermore, this happens when nitrogen dioxide and sulfur dioxide react in the Earth's atmosphere. This will eventually have a large role in the enviromental society.
Lastly, chlorofluorocarbons is an extreme problem in the air. These chemicals are usually released when leaking occurs with either refridgeration or air conditioning. Chlorofluorocarbons will eventually lead to the deterioration of the ozone layer and add to global warming. The Earth's air is constantly getting worse. The bad air around us is already starting to effect many peoples lives. If we manage to stop or reduce the amount of major pollutants from moving into the air, the Earth will be a much better place for the future generations.
